* WHERE...Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan.

* WHEN...From 11 PM EDT /10 PM CDT/ this evening to 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dense fog will develop tonight as the low levels cool and ample moisture remains in place, along with light winds off of the remaining snowpack and cold waters of the Great Lakes.

FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT

Significant snowpack remains over the northern and eastern U.P. Temperatures well above freezing and higher humidity will continue to increase snowmelt. Over the south-central U.P. snowpack had eroded but rivers, streams, creeks, and low laying areas remained high or full. Additional showers and a few thunderstorms are possible Wednesday night.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan, including the following areas, in central Upper Michigan, Alger, Baraga, Delta, Dickinson, Iron, Luce, Marquette, Menominee, Northern Schoolcraft and Southern Schoolcraft. In western Upper Michigan, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton and Southern Houghton.

* WHEN...Through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

For the Menominee River...including Florence, Twin Falls Dam-Iron Mountain, Vulcan, and Niagara...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...Menominee River near Niagara.

* WHEN...Until late Monday night.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Flood waters reach the Aurora Fire Protection station.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 14.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 14.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.2 feet Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Monday morning. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.1 feet on 04/27/1996. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Flood waters reach a few homes and cottages along Runbers Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.8 feet Thursday morning.
