* WHEN...Until Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, The current extent of flooding along the San Juan River in New Mexico has not been observed since before the completion of Navajo Dam in 1962. In the Farmington vicinity, backwater flooding on the Animas River at and above the confluence with the San Juan River is the major concern. See flood bulletins pertaining to the Animas River. Downriver through Shiprock, mostly low lying and agricultural areas are subject to inundation.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - There is no current observed data. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight, then continue falling through early week. - Flood stage is 8.5 feet. - The San Juan River at Farmington has already crested at an all time record stage yesterday. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...San Juan River at Farmington.

* WHEN...From this morning to Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 8.5 feet, Overbank flow is occurring from just below the confluence of the Animas and San Juan Rivers at Farmington, and continuing downriver through Shiprock. At this water level, the fast flow can result in river bank erosion but otherwise minor flood damage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM MDT Thursday the stage was 5.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 7.2 feet late tomorrow evening. - Action stage is 7.0 feet. - Flood stage is 8.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
