* Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern New Castle County in northern Delaware... Northwestern Gloucester County in southern New Jersey... Southern Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 206 PM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring in Claymont.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wilmington, Chester, Folcroft, Swarthmore, Elsmere, Arden, Chelsea, Chester Township, Concordville, Elam and Nether Providence Township.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Somerset, Sussex, Warren and Western Monmouth, and Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by midday today. Some of these showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce very heavy rainfall. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches of rain can be expected with localized amounts of 3-5 inches possible in the strongest storms.
