* At 316 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... St. Joseph, Savannah, Wathena, Elwood, Highland, Troy, Country Club Villa, Country Club, Oregon, Amazonia, Forest City, Fillmore, White Cloud, Big Lake, Severance, Leona, Fortescue, Fanning, Iowa Point and St. Joseph Airport.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* WHERE...Missouri River at St Joseph.

* WHEN...From late Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Lowland flooding upstream and downstream from St. Joseph occurs. At 19.0 feet, Backwater from the Missouri River floods property along the Nodaway river at Nodaway, Missouri.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:35 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 8.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to a crest of 17.9 feet Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
