* WHAT...Blowing snow and very cold wind chills. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Wind chills as low as 30 below zero.

* WHERE...Northeast Aroostook, Northwest Aroostook, Southeast Aroostook and Northern Penobscot Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 4 PM EST this afternoon. For the Wind Chill Advisory, until 2 AM EST Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and cause localized whiteout conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute. The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow around. Use caution when traveling, especially in open areas.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
